Staff Dotnet Developer

THE OPPORTUNITY:
*This is a remote opportunity and open to candidates that reside in the United States and Canada*

The Staff Dotnet Developer helps bring our product concepts and designs to life. This individual will work on multidisciplinary teams, engaging with product managers, UX and UI designers, software developers, and QA analysts to deliver features and products that help our customers do their jobs better. The candidate should be well-versed in software technologies, such as .Net Core, C#, and APIs. A keen eye for detail, creative thinking, exceptional problem-solving skills, and excellent communication skills are essential when working with our product team and fellow software developers to bring product requirements to life.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key Responsibilities include:

• Be an expert in all VelocityEHS products and solutions
• Ability to project plan and prioritize resource allocation
• Be a leader by example to the Software Development Team
• Assist with coaching new employees to the Software Development Team
• Completing delegated tasks, maintaining strict adherence to product roadmap schedule
• Maintaining software development processes
• Analyzing product requirements
• Maintaining high level of product quality
• Collaborate with our database software developers to ensure backend functionality maintains middle and frontend integrity
• Support QA analysts by tracking and addressing bugs during testing process
• Aid in managing internal resources
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Manager of Software Development and the VP of Technology

Minimum Skills & Qualifications:

• You have 7+ years years of experience developing scalable, high performing, and maintainable enterprise solutions, playing a key part in your scrum teams’ successes.
• You have been in a lead position on an Agile team for over 1 year, responsible for code reviews, documentation, and technical guidance.
• You have a strong understanding of clean code concepts and are proficient in test-driven development (TDD).
• You effectively bring product requirements to life through excellent communication skills with product teams and fellow engineers.
• You understand customer needs and possess strong business acumen. You create realistic timelines for projects and balance competing priorities.
• You foster an environment for honest and open discussion of all issues. You involve the right people, from your team and others, to resolve critical issues.
• You work with cross-functional teams including business analysts, UI/UX designers, software developers, and QA analysts.
• Your technical skills include advanced working experience with:
  • -NET 5+ and C#
  • -Relational databases
  • -Cloud architecture (preferably AWS)
  • -API design and development (preferably GraphQL)
  • -Containers (preferably Docker)
  • -Unit testing frameworks (preferably JUnit)
  • -CI/CD practices

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience building microservice APIs utilizing RESTful and/or GraphQL designs
• Advanced knowledge of Dependency Injection
• Advanced knowledge of Entity Framework Core
• Experience building React based web applications
• Advanced knowledge of SQL a plus
• Flexible and able to work within established branding and product specs
• Passion for building great products
• Intermediate knowledge of cloud hosting providers like AWS and Azure
