VelocityEHS talks about promoting safe behaviors in your workforce.

Video Transcript

When I first started my EHS career, I thought that it was all just a matter of compliance.

Regulatory agencies told you what the “right things to do” were, and you just did them.

I came to realize later on that it was a little bit more complicated than that because you had to get people to do the right thing.

I often found that I felt like I was telling people to do things over and over again, and it was still not getting done.

That’s when I realized that that’s not enough – you have to empower people to do the right thing.

That means making it easy for them to do the things that you expect them to do.

So, if you have processes that make it hard to do even the most basic EHS tasks like Incident Management, you’re probably not going to see the buy-in that you want to get.

Luckily, there are ways that you can solve that problem.

Modern technology can help you to remove those barriers to participation so that you can empower your workforce.
