Session Description: Organizations are increasingly moving beyond traditional, compliance focused, blame-based, reactive safety approaches to create proactive, risk-based safety cultures. Yet with so many methodologies available—Behavior-Based Safety (BBS), Human and Organizational Performance (HOP), near-miss reporting, human factors, and others—many leaders struggle to determine what works, what doesn’t, and how these approaches fit together. Through real-world examples, panelists will discuss lessons learned from adopting and combining different safety approaches, including what delivered meaningful results, what failed to gain traction, and why. You’ll gain a deeper understanding of the strengths and limitations of various safety philosophies, how they influence organizational culture and performance, and how to create a more proactive, resilient, and risk-aware workforce.
