Hi, my name is Brandon Beltzman and I’m a certified ergonomist with Humantech (now VelocityEHS Ergonomics). Today, we’re going to be reviewing this cool little device called the ‘Squids Grabber’ by Ergodyne. This device has gained a lot of popularity in the industry recently due to its attach-anything-to-anything feature. Grippers on opposite ends of the clips can clip onto key rings and carabiners, as well as clothing, fabric, or anything else that would allow gripping or clamping. The jaws on the clamps are designed for secure connection but will break away with just enough force. This is a safety feature that prevents injury if snagged by a machine. They’re made of plastic so they’re non-conductive and you won’t get electrocuted. They’re lightweight, versatile, and can be attached to just about anywhere.

After working with the squid scrubber for some time, there are a few considerations. First off, it works well as intended – the clamps clamp very well and come off when you want them to. There are a couple of caveats, however. One, it’s difficult to depress; it can be rather hard, especially if somebody has arthritis or hand injuries. Secondly, although it is durable plastic (that it’s made out of), there’s a chance the spring might lose its strength over time. All in all, though, the squid scrubber is a great piece of equipment, high quality, and it will ensure that you never lose your keys again.
