The VelocityEHS Instructional Designer is primarily responsible for the creation and maintenance of internal-facing learning assets. As part of the Learning & Media team, this role works with the Associate Manager of Instructional Design to maintain and support relationships with subject matter experts throughout VelocityEHS, collaborates with stakeholders and subject matter experts to design and develop instructional materials aligned with business and learning objectives, and conducts evaluation and assessment to determine training efficacy.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Creates, implements, and delivers engaging and interactive internal-facing e-learning, instructor-led training, and job aids with minimal technical supervision
  • Manages multiple projects simultaneously, using course authoring tools, graphic design, image editing, and document formatting skills while adhering to brand standards
  • Consults with stakeholders and subject matter experts (SMEs) across VelocityEHS in planning and scoping internal training, including learning objectives, evaluation, internal communication, and learning and development best practices
  • Tracks, evaluates, and reports on internal quality control metrics, training satisfaction metrics, and other learning evaluation data
  • Collaborates with the Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator to monitor and maintain training materials to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Works with the Associate Manager of Instructional Design to prioritize and schedule learning experiences based on quantitative and qualitative needs analysis techniques
  • Collaborates with training and instructional design teams across the organization to develop and manage learning content and programs.
  • Stays current with best practices within the field of learning and development and instructional design
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of related professional experience, preferably in instructional design, learning and development, or education
  • Ability to independently transform raw content and data received from subject matter experts into learning and training content
  • Experience evaluating learning outcomes and effectiveness through qualitative and quantitative analysis
  • Experience designing both e-learning and instructor-led learning materials
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust with colleagues, subject matter experts, and stakeholders
  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines
  • Strong attention to details, policies and procedures with the ability to identify and recommend improvement opportunities
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Adobe PDF Documents

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficient with course authoring tools such as Articulate360 (Storyline)
  • Proficient with multimedia authoring tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud applications
  • Experience in Software as a Service (SaaS) environment
  • Knowledgeable about EHS & ESG a plus
